I feel good doing art, I find it relaxing and like to keep my hands busy. I enjoy discovering patterns and use them in my work. I like working with other artists in the ArtWorks studio.
I use my imagination to come up with ideas. My mind is open to suggestions too but I choose what really inspires me. I focus on animals and decorative art. I think animals are fun and can also be funny! Frogs and turtles are my favourite.
I like to work mostly with paper – especially to make greeting cards, boxes and papier mache sculptures. Paper, found objects (like buttons and embroidery thread), coloured paper, fabric, papier mache, are all materials I’ve used to create new pieces. I find inspiration from being around people and when I see other artists’ work it helps me find ideas for my own work.
