Phil has been making art for half his life. He loves painting, drawing, making paper-mache sculptures and creating models of churches, houses and an array of characters from his vivid imagination. He delves, with passion, into the minute details of each piece.
Phil has traveled extensively through Mexico, Guatemala, Hawaii and Cuba which has cultivated an appreciation of other cultures. The colour and vitality of these influences continue to find their voice in his work.
He is inspired by a wide variety of subject matter as well as the artwork of artists such as Monet, Cezanne, Frida Kahlo and Emily Carr.
Philip exhibits regularly in Victoria and Vancouver, B.C., as well as international exhibitions in Scotland, Japan and California. Philip’s work is in collections in Canada and Mexico.
